WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT!



Reporting to the Site Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of large civil construction and mining equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and graders. Primary duties include mass excavation, site preparation, road construction, and material moving on heavy civil and mining projects. This is a field-based position that will work on a rotational schedule where camp accommodations are provided. This role will be based out of Northern Ontario and/or Northern Manitoba.

ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS WE NEED FROM YOU!



Operate excavators, dozers, and graders in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Operate equipment using GPS or laser-guided systems for grading and excavation. Assist with loading and unloading of materials or equipment transport when required. Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and ensure equipment is in proper working condition. Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of assigned equipment as required. Maintain a strong focus on safety, adhering to all site-specific protocols and procedures. Report all incidents, hazards, and near misses to the Site Foreman promptly. Monitor ground conditions and communicate hazards related to terrain or weather.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU BE A POSITIVE IMPACT?



Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, and/or graders is required. Previous experience in heavy civil construction, general contracting, and/or oilfield operations. Experience operating equipment in remote or fly-in/fly-out locations will be considered an asset. GPS operation and fine grading/finishing experience will be considered strong assets. Ability to read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and survey markers. Ability to work in a fast-paced, always changing environment. Willingness and ability to work both day and night shifts as required. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Willingness and ability to work in variable weather conditions. Must be able to successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening as well as a criminal background check.
