Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Excavator Operator operates an excavator on various projects.
SCOPE
The Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. They will also ensure that accurate and timely information regarding supplies, tools and time are provided and recorded as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Excavator Operator is required to:
operate as a team member in a cross cultural work environment.
follow all required safety procedures.
Has experience operating a 90 Kubota, 160 JD, 210 JD, 330 CAT, 350 JD
Has at least 2 years experience working with Cone Crushers & Jaw Crushers
The Heavy Equipment Operator performs a wide range of duties as follows:
Operates assigned heavy equipment and performs some repairs and maintenance activities in a safe manner.
Practices good housekeeping to keep the workplace clean and orderly.
Other related duties as required.
Some heavy lifting may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills & Knowledge:
Familiarity with the safety concerns related to the operation and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles.
Valid driver's license.
Current first aid certificate (standard or emergency). Experience:
Five years experience operating an excavator would be preferred.
Digging trenches for electrical wires would be an asset.
Two years experience on projects where you had to work on depths and different levels of digging.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The successful candidate will be expected to work 10-12 hour shifts while on site, on a rotational basis.
Camp accommodation and transportation are provided.
Wages and benefits will be based on experience.
