Job Summary:
Reporting to the Events Assistant 2, the incumbent performs a range of work including physical lifting, customer service, and troubleshooting of technical equipment. Work is performed with moderate independence; complex work is checked and reviewed by a supervisor for accuracy.

Education/Qualifications:
Enrollment in High School or a recognized educational institute is required.
Experience:
Some experience performing light, manual labour and some experience in a customer service environment is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and being responsive to client requests.
Ability to follow written, drawn or oral directions with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to move and set up furniture and trouble shoot A/V equipment.
Ability to plan, organize and carry out assigned duties and responsibilities.
Ability to receive feedback and incorporate remedial instruction.
Ability to work with members of a small team to achieve success.
Working knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar and arithmetic.
Working knowledge of VPL's Public Meeting Rooms and Facilities Use Policy and other relevant guidelines related to public and private activities on VPL property.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external service providers.
Ability to work outside of regular office hours to support programs, events, and filming.
Ability to work alone, adhering to the Working Alone Procedures
