About the Position
The Events & Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening Lethbridge Polytechnic's connection to the community, donors and partners across southern Alberta. Reporting to the Associate Director, External Engagement, this position blends creative event leadership with relationship-building and strategic coordination to support fundraising initiatives, stewardship activities and community engagement efforts.
Working as part of the External Engagement team, the coordinator leads signature fundraising and stewardship events, supports sponsorship outreach and represents the institution at community initiatives. Through thoughtful planning, strong partnerships and effective data management, this role contributes to institutional visibility, philanthropic success and positive community relationships.
Position Details
Position Duties:
Fundraising & Stewardship Events

  • Plan and deliver fundraising, donor recognition and stewardship events
  • Develop event concepts and manage budgets, vendors and execution
  • Ensure positive donor and sponsor experiences in collaboration with Development Team
Community Engagement
  • Represent Lethbridge Polytechnic at community events and initiatives
  • Build relationships with community, business and municipal partners
  • Support community use of campus spaces aligned with institutional priorities
Sponsorship & Partnerships
  • Identify, solicit and steward event sponsorships and in-kind contributions
  • Develop sponsorship proposals and coordinate recognition fulfillment
CRM, Data & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate engagement and event data in Salesforce
  • Produce reports and ensure compliance with privacy and CASL requirements
Budget & Administration
  • Manage event budgets, procurement and reconciliation
  • Maintain planning resources and provide project coordination support
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in business administration, communications, marketing, project management, hospitality or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in event coordination, community engagement, fundraising, sponsorship or a related role
  • Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) and managing data accurately
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a post-secondary, non-profit or public-sector environment
  • Experience supporting fundraising or donor stewardship initiatives
  • Familiarity with event planning and relationship building
  • Knowledge of CRM systems
Salary AUPE Level 12 Step 1 $60,669.93
