We currently have an opportunity for an Event & Sponsorship Specialist role to join our team. The Event & Sponsorship Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization's existing and new events and sponsorships initiatives to effectively contribute to the organization's overall brand strategy. The Specialist leads the end-to-end execution of events from concept development and logistics planning, to coordinating with vendors and on-site management. This also includes post-event evaluation.

Specific Responsibilities:




Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI tracking. Track and analyze the success of activations, including metrics like brand awareness, engagement, and sales, to relate event/sponsorship efforts back to business results. Conceptualize and support business development events and opportunities that align with the SCU brand. Effectively plan for trade show events, supporting the sales team throughout the entire process from ideation to event fulfillment. Oversee the management of all sponsorships and partnerships that support event success inclusive of prospecting, negotiating agreements, communication of outcome to incoming requests and nurturing of relationships that contribute to long-term success and brand alignment. Organize facilities and manage all event details and all required logistics. Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations. Work collaboratively with the marketing team to ensure customized content, presentations, or collateral are created for use in community sponsorship or business development events, in accordance with SCU's brand guidelines and sales strategies. Apply best practices and identify areas for improvement within departmental policies/procedures/practices and member touch points. Negotiate sponsorships, develop activation plans, and manage relationships with sponsors. Create engaging and memorable experiences that highlight the brand and its values. Develop and maintain a yearly event calendar per channel, budget, deadlines, resources, and execution plans. Strategically plan and execute a variety of experiential events, including tradeshows, product launches, client activations, sponsorship activations, and internal events. Develop clear and concise communications and presentations to share marketing plans, results and recommendations with ELT and internal stakeholders. Liaise with internal clients to identify their needs, the needs of the organization, and how our events and sponsorships could support achieving these objectives. Work with Social Media specialist to develop relevant social content to boost brand visibility and engagement. Act as a stakeholder, project team member or subject matter expert on required SCU projects/initiatives, ensuring required data, information and/or recommendations are available in a timely manner. Establish deadlines and coordinate the work of others as required to meet deadlines for marketing and sponsorship project, data information gathering and reporting, as required by stakeholders. Build relationships internally between the marketing department and all other departments.

Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Event Management, Communications, or a related field

Minimum of 4+ years

of experience in event planning, experiential marketing, or a similar role, preferably in the financial industry A proactive, results-oriented mindset Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills Strong project management, organization and planning skills to successfully execute high-quality events and sponsorships Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders. Resilience under pressure and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities Ability to effectively plan multiple projects with tight timelines, concurrently Strong understanding of experiential marketing strategies and consumer behaviour Creative thinker with a passion for developing engaging, memorable experiences
