As an Event Specialist, you will administer the intake process for hosting public special events on city land. You will provide guidance to organizers regarding the process and review and track the requests. You will assist with the coordination of festivals and events for the City of Calgary. Primary duties include:Assist festival and event organizers with initial intake of festival and event requests received.
Respond to inquiries and conducts initial evaluation of festival and event requests received.
Maintain and train colleagues on the systems used to manage festivals and events.
Place hold on all bookable space for booking requests and process permits as required on behalf of the Event Coordinator.
Work with Communications to ensure online information for the public is accurate.
Monitor website content and develop information listings for distribution.
Support pre-planning and on-site at events.
