Limited Edition Protection and Security (est. 2003) is now inviting enthusiastic, passionate individuals to join our team and be part of the excitement during soccer games, concerts, hockey games, and other events. We currently have positions across the lower mainland including, but not limited to, all the major event venues. Do you enjoy Concerts and want to enjoy some of your favorite artists? Hockey Games? POSITION SUMMARY: Our Specialized Event Security Operatives are an integral part of event logistics, as they are responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests, performers/athletes, and employees. We are looking for attentive, sharp, eagle-eyed and proactive Operatives that will require specialized training. We are looking for the best of the best. This individual will need to be physically fit; with an ability to sprint if need be, and must be able to tackle and bring down an average-sized man (approx. 150 lbs). Applicants must possess a valid security license and be available for a MINIMUM of 3 shifts per month. These are part-time, hourly, events-based positions. A typical shift includes:

• Ensuring the safety of guests, employees, and property by dealing with alcohol and crowd management-related issues
• Directing and assisting guests with any service-related issues
• Enforcing the venue policies and procedures
• Completing incident reports and ensuring they are accurate, complete, and technically sufficient
• Communicating with coworkers via radio
• Other duties as required

DUTIES:

• Monitor overall activity on the site to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, search and seizure, and preservation of evidence
• Potentially tackling guests/runners that breach barriers of soccer fields etc.
• Initiate investigations of security-related incidents
• Operate in a professional, business-centered environment where customer service, confidentiality, and integrity are held to a high standard
• Assist EMS or other officials during emergency situations
• Perform other related duties and special project functions as assigned
• Ensure the overall safety and protection of people, property, and equipment

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have EVENT Security Experience
• Must possess a valid Security Guard License
• Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays with a start time of approximately 5:30pm
• Must be able to read and understand credentials
• Ability to learn and manage various programs including emergency response system, crowd control, lost children, alcohol program, etc.
• Knowledge of or interest in sporting and entertainment events
• Fluent In English; both speaking and reading, is a must
• Fluency in a second language in addition to English is an asset.
• Non-Canadian residents must hold a valid work permit expiring no earlier than December 2023

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to physically manage an unruly guest
• Must be physically fit and have the ability to physically restrain an average sized man. Working knowledge of the National Use of Force Model and its application is an asset
• Must be able to handle periodic lifting requirements of approximately 60 lbs. of weight (e.g., assist with strollers, wheelchairs, etc.)
• Must be able to stand, walk, and ascend stairs for the duration of the shift (typically 8 hours)
• Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment
• Able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
