perform a wide range of essential roles to ensure the delivery of a superior, safe and engaging guest experience at Canada Life Centre.
What to be excited for in this role:
Welcome every guest during arrival with a smile and offer of assistance, ensuring to maintain all venue access control requirements and restrictions.
Perform various arrival security screening functions such as metal detectors, x-ray machines, and contactless bag searches.
Ensure adherence to all venue, NHL, AHL security and safety policies and procedures.
Lead or assist with various safety, security, emergency incidents, threats and disturbances as required.
Proactively identify and address guest code of conduct issues to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience; support other venue team members requiring further assistance or intervention.
Support the guest experience or other venue team members with line control, crowd management, scanning mobile tickets, and providing directions to venue seating, amenities, services, and activations.
Take pride in all assigned areas to ensure excellent and safe venue presentation through continuous monitoring and attentiveness.
Communicate and collaborate positively with all venue team members to elevate the guest experience wherever possible.
Observe guests and ensure guidelines set out by Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) 'Smart Choices' are followed.
Complete all post-event administration such as venue presentation checks, incident reports, work orders, and sharing feedback with Supervisors.
What we need from you:
Always being friendly, positive, and enthusiastic with every guest and venue team member.
Comfortable working with large crowds in a loud, fun, and dynamic environment.
Must provide a clean criminal record and child abuse registry check.
Must have a security license or be licensable under provincial security guard legislation.
Must complete Smart Choices (formerly Serving it Safe) course as outlined by Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Previous security, guest service, and hospitality experience is considered an asset.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods and move around the venue with pace.
Must be able to commit to working a minimum of 60% of events at Canada Life Centre, including evenings and weekends.
