The Role
An Event Security Guard is responsible of guarding, patrolling, and monitoring premises to avoid theft, violence, and the infraction of rules. This role is to safeguard the assets and people within the premises that is licensed under the Liquor Control Act. They must also know how to identify and respond to crimes, fires, unusual occurrences, and medical emergencies.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Service
Interact with patrons and team members with professionalism, dignity and respect.
Respond to patron complaints and react accordingly.
Access control
Screen patrons upon entry (bag checks, IDs, tickets).
Directing foot traffic.
Evacuations in the event of an emergency.
Escorting attendees away from venues (health problems or disturbances of patrons).
Other Duties
Report writing (incidents, end of shift reports).
Communication with colleagues throughout the event to ensure and maintain order of patrons.

Proactive and curious with a desire to learn and grow.
Knowledge of business and management principles.
1+ years of experience in a Security Guard.
Requirements for becoming a licensed private guard in NS
Must have a clean criminal record
No outstanding fines
Must be 19 +
