The Role - Event Marketing Communications Lead Are you looking to forge new relationships and grow personally and professionally? As the Event Marketing & Communications Lead, you will be responsible for creating, building, and maintaining the image of our organization and our event brands, both professionally and publicly. Reporting to the CEO and working collaboratively with one direct reporting coordinator, along with the leads of our various work functions, you will organize and execute our various marketing plans. This is an integral role that requires a proactive person with a desire to achieve and grow. The role will involve developing and maintaining relationships within the community to help build our reputation as a leader in our space and increase event registrations and revenue. You will be responsible for creating and distributing relevant and valuable marketing communications initiatives to attract, acquire, and engage a clearly defined target audience, with the objective of driving profitable customer action. You will contribute to improving our marketing strategy by evaluating data, conducting research, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement. In addition, you will be responsible for contributing and managing the critical path, communication plans, marketing budgets, and providing ongoing support to internal departments and external partners, all while building brand recognition for all our event properties. You should be well-versed in working on partnerships, community connections, media relations, event marketing, and creating successful pathways for the customer experience. This includes overseeing the production of high-quality branded materials or content for the website, e-blasts, and related digital and print marketing materials, as well as signage and other materials that support easy, engaging, and memorable visitor experiences. Experience with social media, communications, email marketing, publicity, and developing and nurturing partnerships is key to this role. Qualifications - Accumulated learned experiences and/or post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, or relevant/related studies will be considered. - 3 to 5+ years of work experience leading the tactical execution of a critical path for communications and marketing of a portfolio of event brands (both established and growing). - Ability to delegate work and lead team members to complete tasks on time and with success. - Experience in marketing events is a considerable asset. - A good understanding of business principles as it relates to working cohesively with functional departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Conference, and Sales). - Experience managing budgets and being fiscally responsible with departmental spending. - Experience identifying and developing external relationships that result in mutually beneficial partnerships for our respective event brands. - Proficient using and/or learning technology such as MS Office, HubSpot, WordPress, Elementor, MailChimp, Wufoo, Survey Monkey, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Analytics.
