Compensation

: Starting wage of $18.35/hour + 4% vacation + share of tips pool

Schedule:

Shifts are available on weekdays and weekends; four to eight hours in length, generally late afternoon and evening, with one to five shifts per week

The Job

Our Event Hosts are hands-on team leaders who play a key role in ensuring that events are safe and positive experiences. This is accomplished, in part, by making sure Sea Cider's protocols are followed and by being a conscientious communicator. Duties include:

meeting regularly with our Venue Coordinator to review event plans, setting up for events, assigning event service tasks to other team members, bartending, working cooperatively with caterers and other 3rd parties, cleaning up after events, resetting event spaces for their next day use, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Shifts are available weekdays and weekends, generally late afternoon and into the evening. Comprehensive training is provided on all aspects of event service and of course, cider! Other benefits include:

About You

You are a positive, service-oriented person and have been recognized for your leadership skills and ability to remain calm under pressure. You are keen to play a leadership role in a collaborative environment that values kindness, conscientiousness and fun! In addition you have:

Education:

Serving It Right - required; Foodsafe Level 1 - an asset. Hospitality-related courses or programs are an asset.

Vocational & industry experience

an aptitude for customer service - required; at least one year of supervisory experience - required; event experience - required.

Technology experience:

experience with Point of Sale systems - required.

Communication skills & teamwork

: a gift for diplomacy, and a proven track record in problem solving, resolving customer complaints successfully, and avoiding complaints in the first place!

Personal aptitude

: Professionalism, leadership qualities, reliability, openness to feedback, able to work well with others and to "roll up your sleeves" to get the job done!

Work week availability:

able to work mid afternoon into the evening, 1 to 5 shifts per week.

Physical requirements:

the physical strength to safely and manually carry cases of cider and dish racks, move tables and chairs, and the physical stamina to work on your feet for hours at a time. Willingness to work outside occasionally, rain or shine.
