Position Overview
The Events and Programming Coordinator is a vital member of our organization, dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, youth, and families. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing engaging educational, recreational, arts, and well-being programs for children (grades 1-12) and their families, rooted in Jewish values and traditions. The Coordinator will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages engagement, connection, and a sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Delivery
Help significantly grow the children's recreation and education programming.
Plan and promote at least one innovative, high-quality monthly program for children ages 5-10, and another for teens.
Develop and implement educational, recreational, health, and wellness initiatives to address the needs and interests of the community.
Attend programs to engage meaningfully with participants and their families to promote membership and retention.
Ensure all programs meet organizational standards for quality, inclusion, and safety.
Administration & Planning
Promote programs through newsletters, social media, and community outreach together with the Communications and Engagement Administrator.
Maintain accurate records of program participation, feedback, and outcomes.
Adjust work hours as needed to ensure programs are well-supported.
B'nai/B'not Mitzvah Group Program
Design and implement meaningful B'nai Mitzvah programming.
Connect with service providers, external organizations, for the outsourced programs.
Engage with Beth David B'nai/B'not Mitzvah and their parents.
Attend and audit the programs, with the intent of retaining alum post-simcha.
B'nai/B'not Mitzvah Family Events
Oversee logistics for all B'nai Mitzvah Family celebrations.
Coordinate and manage all rental bookings within the facility.
Communication with parents regarding day of logistics, the order of the service and in-person rehearsals.
Volunteer & Leadership Coordination
Engage and coordinate teen volunteers, including recruiting, training, and supporting their efforts.
Foster leadership opportunities among youth and teens.
Community Engagement
Create an environment that is welcoming and supportive for all participants.
Regularly engage with children, youth, and families to encourage participation, gather feedback, and address concerns.
Work collaboratively with staff, lay leaders, and community partners to enhance program offerings.
Qualifications
Experience developing and delivering youth and family programming, preferably within a community or Jewish cultural context.
Demonstrated ability to engage children, teens, and families.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Experience supervising volunteers and/or youth leaders is an asset.
Commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for all.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $45,861.62-$64,266.09 per year
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
