Responsible for evening shifts in the Grove Transitional Rehabilitation Housing Program to ensure the provision of client-centered support and rehabilitation in a residential setting. The rehabilitation worker will provide supportive counseling and/or crisis intervention to clients/tenants whenever necessary.
Duties Summary:
Provide supportive counseling and/or crisis intervention to clients/tenants.
Provide individual support and teaching or assisting with life skills, such as cleaning, cooking, personal and sleep hygiene as needed.
Develop, facilitate and evaluate recovery-focused groups.
Assist clients in developing individualized recovery plans.
Be knowledgeable of current policies and procedures.
Carry out supervision and monitoring of clients as required by the Ontario Review Board.
Communicate and work in collaboration with partner agencies to support clients in reaching their recovery goals.
Complete required documentation (client files and logbook, incident reports, etc.) in a timely manner.
Provide ON CALL coverage.
Other duties may be assigned by the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Science or related field
Two years of experience working with adults recovering from mental health issues.
One year of experience working in a residential setting.
Training in CPR, CPI, ASIST, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Concurrent Disorders, ASL and LSQ is an asset.
Experience or training in forensic mental health would be an asset.

Demonstrates knowledge of Community and health resources within the Ottawa Region.
Demonstrates understanding of:
Concurrent disorders
Psychosocial Rehabilitation and mental health recovery
Crisis intervention and prevention.
Suicide prevention and intervention.
Skills, Ability to:
Establish supportive relationships with individuals and groups.
Relate to clients using a strengths based, client-centered approach.
Establish a supportive and respectful group living environment.
Provide support through mediation, conflict resolution, and problem solving and crisis intervention.
Teach techniques to establish good sleep habits.
Set firm, reasonable boundaries and limits.

Eligibility to work in Canada
