Job Description

Growing City is hiring temporary Evening Grounds & Waste Management Staff to join our on-site sustainability team for a major outdoor attraction running from mid-November to end of January.

Shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 7:00 PM - 12:00 AM, with potential for additional hours during peak weeks.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors (in all weather conditions), have strong attention to detail, and thrive in public-facing environments.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools to ensure high-quality l Maintain clean and organized grounds throughout the event site. Monitor all waste and recycling bins, ensuring they are emptied or swapped promptly when full. Support zero-waste goals by sorting materials correctly and preventing contamination of recycling streams. Respond professionally to public inquiries and assist guests as needed. Represent Growing City with professionalism and courtesy at all times. Follow all site safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents to the supervisor.

Position Requirements

Must be available to work evenings (Wednesday-Sunday) from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and large crowds. Excellent customer service and communication skills - this is a highly public-facing role. Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in small teams. Eligibility to work in Canada.

Assets (not required but great to have!):

Previous experience in events, waste management, or hospitality. Passion for the environment.
