DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze and review tender documents, specifications and project sites to clearly understand the scope of work to be estimated and identify any potential risks or issues Liaise with architects, engineers, owners and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials and schedule requirements of the current estimate/proposal and develop relationships for potential repeat business Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and probable cost of materials, labour and equipment of the proposed estimate, tender or proposal Ensure tenders, estimates and proposals are submitted on time and maintain active history and follow up of pricing submitted Source, maintain and negotiate with new and current vendors and sub-contractors for pricing on current and awarded tenders, estimates and proposals Work collaboratively with Project Manager(s) to develop project documentation binders that assist in transitioning projects from the Estimating Department to the Project Managing Department Proactively seek new bidding opportunities to maintain and forecast current and potential projects that align with the company's work season schedule Previous project management experience is considered an asset and part-time project management duties will be required of the successful candidate

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

2 to 5 years of estimating experience in sewer and watermain, road reconstruction, earthmoving and excavation work Completion of Certified Technician (C.Tech.), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) , or equivalent - considered an asset, but not a requirement Sound knowledge of MS office, especially - MS Excel, MSWord, MS project, B2W and MS outlook Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, owners and company personnel Valid G drivers Licence
Full compensation package to be negotiated based on experience that will include salary and benefits.
