This role consists of a combination of jobs each as equally rewarding and critical to the operations of MetalCor Building Systems. This will be a 12 month contract with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.
Estimator
Responsibilities
Review of Pre-Engineered, and Self-Storage building orders
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Liaise, consult, and communicate with department managers
Ensure timely completion of estimates
Maintain cost files within MBS mini and MBS
Archive/File all documents
Ensure manufacturing cost files and estimating cost files are updated simultaneously
Technical Project Review
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve design issues, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
Communicate effectively with internal Project Coordinator Department and Sales team to address technical concerns and provide expert guidance on design modifications.
Development & Ongoing Maintenance of MBS Mini
User Support:
Provide support to Sales staff and other team members who utilize MBS Mini for estimating. Ensure they are proficient in using the software and are aware of any updates or improvements made to the program. Assist new users in downloading the program. Work with MBS staff to ensure program is matching MetalCor standards and systems.
Documentation:
Document changes, updates and improvements made to MBS Mini, creating a clear record of software modifications and the rationale behind them. This documentation aids in transparency and future reference. Develop and update quotation sheets to reflect program data is properly transferred from MBS Mini to the Sales quote form.
Database Administrator
Responsibilities
Insert product information and standard details by inputting text based, numerical information and shop drawings into our E2 Shop Tech Software program
Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry
Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output
Research and obtain information for incomplete product information and data
Maintain an open line of communication between the manufacturing facility
Input Bill of Materials to Quotations and Purchase Orders in E2 Shop Tech Software program
Keep information confidential and comply with data integrity and security policies
Develop and support in building new data integrations, methodologies and reporting
Identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend/implement solutions
Support inventory management processes
Qualifications
Education and Training
Preferred bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Experience may be accepted in lieu of education
Experience
Minimum of (1) year of experience in pre-engineered/general contractor or subcontractor construction company
Minimum of (1) year experience in execution and oversight of construction projects and oversight of third-party erectors and manufacturers
Preferred experience in the manufacturing industry
Knowledge and Skills
Preferred knowledge of pre-engineered building system practices
Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills, and adaptable to changing priorities and challenging situations
Ability to perform under pressure and meet demanding implementation schedules
Strong organizations and follow- up skills
Ability to investigate problems or potential problems to avoid reoccurrence
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
Ability to communicate at multiple levels, internally and externally within the company
Excellence in oral and written communication in English
