Estimator - Commercial Flooring

Hourly Rate: $30-$40 (commensurate with experience)

We are seeking a

Commercial Flooring Estimator

to join our team. This role is responsible for accurate estimating as well as preparing and coordinating the details that set projects up for success. The right candidate will combine technical knowledge with organizational ability and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

? Perform detailed project takeoffs and develop accurate material and labour estimates

? Prepare organized project source files, quantity sheets, and supporting documents

? Create and manage color-coded files and working documents for project clarity

? Coordinate with sales and project management teams to ensure scope, pricing, and timelines are accurate

? Assist in bid preparation, ensuring all required documents and forms are complete and submitted on time

? Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and availability for project bids

? Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify project requirements and potential risks

? Support project hand-off by preparing job files and coordinating with field teams to ensure readiness

Qualifications

? Previous experience in flooring, construction estimating, or related field preferred

?

Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred

(equivalent experience will be considered)

? Proficient with Microsoft Excel and estimating software (experience with industry-specific tools an asset)

? Strong organizational and documentation skills

? Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications

? Excellent communication skills for working with vendors, project managers, and clients

? Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines

Compensation

? Hourly wage:

$30-$40
