Location: Prince George, BC
Reports to: Planning Manager

Work Setting: In-Person | Permanent, FT

Job Summary:



We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing bids, and ensuring accurate financial projections for various mechanical and industrial projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, cost analysis expertise, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to develop competitive and profitable estimates.

Responsibilities



Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to determine scope and cost estimates. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and vendors to gather pricing and technical information. Evaluate risks and contingencies to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain up-to-date estimates. Review cost databases to improve future estimating accuracy. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in estimating within the general industrial construction and fabrication of piping and structural steel. Proficiency in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, Aimsio, or similar). Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients and vendors. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to oil, gas, and mechanical contracting.

What we offer



Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, overtime opportunities also available. RRSP Contributions for eligible employees after successful completion of probationary period Comprehensive Employee Group Benefit Package Two Weeks Annual Vacation
