Job Summary:

The estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other relevant documents. They collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather the necessary information for bid preparation. The estimator evaluates material and labor costs, prepares cost estimates, and submits bids within deadlines. They may also negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of construction methods and materials are essential for success in this role. Additionally, effective communication and teamwork are indispensable for coordinating project estimates with various stakeholders while maintaining a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimation Preparation: Prepare potential cost evaluations of materials, labor, and equipment required to complete construction projects, based on submissions, price estimates, plans, and descriptive quotes.
• Opportunity Evaluation: Study and analyze received submissions, recommend acceptance.
• Submission Process Management: Establish and maintain submission, control, and reporting systems and procedures.
• Supplier Management: Prepare and update directories of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, liaise with them, consult and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Safety Awareness: Follow safety protocols, report hazards, and maintain a safe working environment for all team members.

Qualifications: Technical study in civil engineering, construction management option or several years of experience in estimating.

Contract Types: Full-time

Salary: Based on experience

Benefits: Medical insurance after 3 months

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Experience: 2 years of experience as an estimator would be an asset
