is a designer and builder of specialty metal shipping racks and trailers for the automotive industry, with 3 facilities in Kingsville, 2 in the USA and 1 in Mexico. To meet our ever-increasing customer demands and deliver the quality they have come to expect of us, we are seeking an experienced manufacturing Estimator to join our team.
The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and blueprints, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing estimating and project management. We are a_

Prepare Quotations: Compile detailed cost estimates and technical proposals for customers for both Canada and USA.
Determine and estimate material, labor, and other production costs for custom fabrications and low-volume runs.
Review project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to understand scope of work
Analyze project requirements, specifications, and blueprints to determine the materials, labor, and equipment needed
Develop and maintain relationships with sub-vendors and external service providers (e.g., steel suppliers, paint shops), and manage their quotes and pricing.
Compiling accurate cost estimates for a manufacturing project
Understanding the market, we should be able to properly and completely summarize the estimate
Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labour and materials
Contribute to the development of project budgets by providing detailed cost breakdowns and collaborating with project manager to ensure financial feasibility.
Collaborate with project manager to develop project schedules and budgets
Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings
Maintain accurate and detailed records of cost estimates, assumptions, and data sources. Ensure that documentation is organized and easily accessible for reference.
Negotiate pricing with suppliers
Prepare bid packages and submit proposals
After the job is estimated, and awarded, it is handed off to production. They wouldn't need to come back to this unless there is a question about what was quoted.
Qualifications for Successful Candidates:

Proven experience as an Estimator in the manufacturing industry
Technical knowledge: A strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, welding, fabrication) and materials.
Mathematical aptitude: Exceptional math and analytical skills to accurately perform complex calculations.
Attention to detail: A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to ensure all costs and project variables are accounted for.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear interaction with customers, vendors, and internal staff.
Time management: The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Problem-solving: Critical thinking skills to address potential issues and find creative, cost-effective solutions.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or a college diploma in a technical area such as manufacturing or industrial engineering technology
At least 3-5 years' experience as an estimator in the manufacturing industry
