Job Title: Construction Estimator

As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in their project lifecycle by providing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring profitability.

Estimator Job Summary:

As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, conducting comprehensive cost analyses, and preparing detailed estimates for construction projects. Your expertise in estimating costs, materials, labor, and subcontractor services will be instrumental in ensuring accurate project budgets and competitive bids. You will collaborate closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors, to develop comprehensive estimates that align with industry standards and project requirements.

Estimator Responsibilities:

Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to gain a thorough understanding of project scope, requirements, and constraints.
Conduct accurate quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project drawings and specifications.
Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and evaluate the feasibility of different project approaches.
Analyze project risks, challenges, and opportunities to develop comprehensive cost estimates that consider factors such as site conditions, schedule requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Utilize construction estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in estimating processes.
Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project requirements, local codes, and contract terms.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other discussions with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project details and gather relevant information.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to review and negotiate project estimates, ensuring alignment with project goals and budget constraints.
Track and monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to stay updated on market dynamics and adjust estimates accordingly.
Provide ongoing cost analysis and support throughout the project lifecycle, including change order management, cost tracking, and project closeout activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within the commercial, residential, or civil construction sectors.
Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and methodologies.
Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, ProEst, Bluebeam).
