We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimating Manager to join our construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. This role leads all detailed tenders and bid submissions. The Senior Estimator ensures estimates align with project scope, schedule, and client expectations while maintaining a strong focus on profitability and risk management. The estimator also constantly reviews actual costs incurred in projects and includes this feedback in estimates.
Key Responsibilities
Act
as
the
central
liaison
between Project Divisions to ensure aligned priorities, consistent practices, and coordinated bid strategies.
Drive
estimating
decision-making
, ensuring that estimates proceed efficiently and that risks, opportunities, and resource needs are clearly communicated.
Lead,
coach,
and
support
estimators
, enabling consistent delivery while fostering skill development and knowledge sharing through a collaborative and constructive estimating culture.
Ensure
strict
adherence
to
standardized
estimating
checklists
, including input requirements, scope validation, pricing assumptions, and review steps.
Maintain
and
update
estimating
standards
, templates, and tools (primarily standardized Excel-based systems; including historical project information.
Validate
estimate
quality
, confirming accurate application of labour rates, equipment costs, material pricing, subcontractor quotes, overhead structures, and margin strategies.
Ensure
consistent
and
high-quality
assumptions,
clarifications,
and
exceptions
across all bids, reducing ambiguity and protecting the organization commercially.
Drive
improvement
in
proposal
quality
, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and alignment with client expectations.
Develop and maintain relationships
with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to obtain competitive pricing and ensure reliable market data.
Prepare estimates as required:
present estimate summaries, clarifications, and recommendations for review by management
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 15 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $125,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
