Job Summary

Reporting to the Estimation Manager, the Estimator is responsible for receiving and analyzing client requests to estimate the selling price of new cold room or architectural panel projects. Typical requests are received in the form of tenders based on architectural plans, simple sketches, or emails.



Key Responsibilities

Acknowledge receipt of quotes assigned by the Team Coordinator; Analyze client requirements based on received plans, specifications, sketches, or other details; Contact and collaborate with multiple approved suppliers when required for accessories not manufactured by Norbec but necessary for a given project; Prepare, submit, and follow up on the following requests: Requests to internal support services (timelines, priorities, defined tasks); Freight cost requests; Requests for resale and installation; Ensure adherence to procedures established by each department involved; Update quotation forms based on feedback from the relevant departments; Calculate production needs using NorConfig & Size It; Prepare and print quotations using Epicor; For quotes exceeding $750k or involving complex projects, consult the team manager for validation before sending to the client; Send quotes to prospects/clients within the best possible time frame.

Required Education and Experience

DEC or DEP, ideally in estimation, building construction, industrial refrigeration, architecture, or other related field; Experience in cost estimation, costing calculations, or other relevant experience; Experience in commercial/industrial construction.

Key Competencies

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced knowledge of ERP systems; Basic understanding of refrigeration systems; * Familiarity with AutoCAD.
