Job Responsibilities:



.

Proactive organization and tracking of Estate files assigned to you as clerk (including correspondence, client documents, and utilizing internal filing systems), keeping files current for the assigned lawyer

. Provide all general administration of estate files including interim and final reporting

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines with the capacity to balance competing priorities, as required

Ensure timely file management as part of our commitment to client satisfaction

Valuating Assets of Estates

Prepare and submit all necessary court forms required for Certificate of Appointment applications with Ontario Superior court locations

Notifying and updating beneficiaries on applications for Certificate of Appointments

Liaise directly with clients with respect to all aspects of the process of an estate file including asset evaluation, court application, estate accounting, asset liquidation and distribution

Assisting trustees with distributions of bequest and residential funds along with drafted related releases and other necessary documents

. Undertake asset distribution

Assist Estate Trustees to provide smooth communication with banking/investment institutions, lawyers, and courts

Other duties as assigned

About You:



As a successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of

3 to 5 years experience in a similar role.



ou are a team player who can contribute positively to a supportive environment but also excel and maintain focus while working independently. You have excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this fast-paced environment. You are also not afraid to ask questions when you need guidance.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an asset for dealing effectively with clients, lawyers and professionals in the interests of our clients.
