As an Estate Planner, you will act as the architect of the client's estate, guiding and educating them through the full estate planning process using MEP approved strategies and tools.
Business Development and Sales
Conduct introductory and proposal meetings that are devoted to understanding what is significant to the clients' needs and objectives
Using approved strategies and templates, create client facing materials that accurately reflect the client's significance and needs, as well as the recommended solutions
Identify market opportunities and work collaboratively with the marketing team to promote them.
Participate in company marketing activities, including public speaking engagements, writing articles and blogs, leading webinars and seminars, engaging with the company's social media platforms, PR initiatives, etc.
Service Delivery
Actively listen to the client, to understand their needs and significance during all client facing meetings
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the company's services and products across the entire estate plan, to be able to effectively guide the client through the whole estate planning process, making the appropriate recommendations at the appropriate stages.
Communicate with clients in person, via email and telephone to commence an engagement, to keep the matter moving forward on a timely basis, and ensure that the efforts of the support staff are in tune with the client's needs.
Make recommendations to improve processes that will increase service quality and efficiency and responsiveness to clients.
Proactively anticipate and resolve issues quickly across the client's estate planning journey
Delegate tasks to support staff when appropriate, yet maintain sufficient direct client contact to ensure the client is satisfied with the progress on the matter and the amount of the planner's involvement
Oversee and coordinate the work conducted on behalf of the client by third party providers to ensure it is completed in an accurate, effective and timely manner.
Operations
Adhere to firm policies, processes and procedures, particularly following the steps and tasks, as set-out in established workflows, as well as, regularly utilizing the CRM database to document all client interactions.
Technical Understanding & Qualifications
A Canadian CPA or CA designation, or a reciprocal CA designation recognized with the CICA
Stay abreast of changes and new interpretations of law and legal trends in your field, advising clients and team when required.
Participates in at least 15 hours per annum of training and estate planning workshops in your area of expertise.
