About the Role

We're looking for an

Equipment Testing Technician

to join our Red Deer team. This role focuses on

operating and testing natural gas/diesel engines, frac equipment, and compressors

, while maintaining a safe and efficient test environment. You'll troubleshoot, complete technical reports, and collaborate closely with service and parts teams.

What You'll Do

Operate natural gas and diesel engines, frac pumping equipment, and high-pressure gas compressors Perform troubleshooting on engines, generators, pumps, transmissions, and compressors Complete inspection, commissioning, and performance test reports Manage test stand bookings and communicate repair needs Train apprentices and support customer-witnessed equipment testing Create/manage work orders, quotes, change orders, and invoices Support mechanical shop tasks when test stand work is low

What You Bring

Required:

Minimum 3 years operating or maintaining frac equipment Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical aptitude Ability to read technical drawings Solid computer skills (email, Word, engine diagnostic software) Experience with CAT and Cummins software Valid driver's license and ability to lift 60 lbs Strong communication, organization, and initiative Commitment to Collicutt's core values: safety, teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement

Preferred:

HET Apprentice/Journeyman Experience with drilling rigs, frac, or plant operations SAP experience Proven training/mentorship experience

Working Conditions

Shop environment Occasional weekends and evenings based on customer needs Hands-on mechanical and testing work with heavy equipment
