As a Product Testing Technician, you will join the testing team to assist the manufacturing and engineering teams to build, test and help further improve our product. You will report to the Lead Testing Engineer though will often work very closely with the Product Development Technician. This will be a full-time permanent position. In this role, the successful candidate will:
Debug and solve electrical and software configuration issues with all systems and subassemblies, including SBCs
Pre-assemble, configure and test electronic circuit board stacks along with system cameras, lens and payload subassemblies for stock to ensure they pass QC criteria ahead of complete system manufacturing timelines
Setup, and perform testing and evaluation of prototype systems and/or subassemblies based on input from engineering to assess their functionality, performance and compliance with design specifications
Write and convey valuable technical feedback through reports, ECRs or other documentation/communication on knowledge learned during testing of systems or subassemblies to support product design improvements and product durability initiatives
Maintain and/or improve testing processes and test station equipment as part of continuous improvement company goals and ISO 9001 quality management system compliance
Assist manufacturing team in assembly of standardized system as required and available
Required Skills & Experience
Degree or Diploma in Mechatronic, Instrumentation, Testing, or Electrical disciplines.
1+ years experience in a high-tech manufacturing, product development or product testing environment
Ability to excel in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and tasks
Good oral and written English communication skills and emotional intelligence
Ability to multitask with a high degree of precision and attention to detail
Comfortable using hand tools
Strong organization skills and a desire for a clean organized workspace
Productive self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
Passion for enabling others to excel in their job role and commitment to shared success
Ability to bring creativity and positivity to problem-solving in high-pressure situations
Core technical literacy (computer networking, office software, technical reporting, etc.)
Hands-on experience with instrumentation, computer hardware and software, motors, electronics
Software development and Java programming an asset
