We are looking for an Equipment Services Manager to join our Smart Vehicle Solutions team located in Markham, Ontario. Our team has been in place for more than 20 years delivering and repairing inspection equipment for Vehicle Inspection Centres (VIC) across Ontario. The Equipment Service team provides remote equipment diagnostic support, repairs equipment and ships new and replacement parts to locations across the Province.

In this role you can expect to work a 40 hour workweek with shifts on Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8.00 AM and 6:00 PM; and Saturday 9.00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be accountable for:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the Equipment maintenance and service team
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the Ministry Equipment Service Lead
  • Manage Equipment Support Technicians and Team Lead(s)
  • Maintain inventory controls
  • Co-ordinate the shipping and receiving of equipment to and from Vehicle Inspection Centres (VIC)
  • Exceed contractual service levels
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed in the warehouse
  • Create processes and procedures that foster continuous improvement
  • Proactively manage key performance indicators and achieve department targets for response time (calls, chats, emails, video conference and web-tickets)
  • Handle disputes and complex issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist Equipment Support Technicians with advanced troubleshooting
  • Interact and liaise with internal departments to review and resolve customer concerns
  • Achieve Quality Assurance targets
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 (three) year leadership experience, preferably in a Technical Call Centre
  • Minimum 3 (three) year experience in the automotive sector
  • Pleasant telephone manner; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Strong PC skills, knowledge of (MS Office Suite e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations by exhibiting composure and empathy
  • Ability to multitask, quickly adapt to new information and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and good mechanical/technical aptitude would be a definite asset
