CWB Equipment Finance is a crew of specialized individuals who know heavy equipment industries inside and out. We are not office dwellers - our team members often start the day in a branch and end the day on-site with business owners. We are out in the community every day speaking directly with clients, and no two days are the same.

The opportunity

The Equipment Financing Internship/Co-op opportunity provides a unique experience where you will be able to showcase your education while making a real & direct impact on our sales strategy. The opportunity to provide and shape recommendations from conducting market & competitive research, data & financial analysis, and insights & trend identification. You will learn the finances of the business while engaging with our Sales, Operations, & Risk Management teams, providing day-to-day support & crucial sales insights & recommendations for strategy & execution. The role is accountable to ensure excellence client delivery through the proactive facilitation assigned tasks and processes required to facilitate effective sales, loan management, underwriting, adjudication, regulatory compliance and/or credit support functions.

Day-to-day activities

Research. Analysis. Recommendations. Driving sales through data. Team & client support.

  • Engaging, interaction & information confirmation. Connect with external equipment vendors and clients, as the need arises, to ensure appropriate information and documentation is obtained to effect timely funding of loan commitments.
  • Project research & analysis. Research products, tools, market competitors, internal process, capturing data to discuss and bring forward potential changes, improvements, and areas of focus for the EFG Sales team
  • Financial analysis. Conduct financial analysis on client financial statements and certain sectors of the market to gain understanding of market trends that can benefit future financial structures provided to those markets.
  • Data analysis. Provide deep analysis on sales trends and results- working with salesforce.com and exporting to excel to show trends and assist in providing recommendations to sales team for execution
  • Data entry & calculations. Assist with completion of risk scorecards and return on capital (RoC) worksheets to ensure strong data integrity and achievement of adequate risk-based returns by Business Development Managers.
  • Correspondence & documentation. Draft Commitment Letters, Powers or Attorney and other vital documentation not produced by centralized Credit Support, as well as periodic maintenance of sales prospect profiles and other individual and team reporting.
  • Reporting. Preparation, distribution, and completion of various business management and performance reports (out of order report, master delinquency report, credit decision report and credit review date report) while ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are implemented to address identified issues, as applicable.
  • Learning. Although you've developed a strong credit foundation, you are always identifying trends and growing your knowledge to achieve ultimate success and strong results for you, and your team.

You have administrative experience & operational knowledge built on some formal education (pursuing degree/diploma in a business/finance related field). You must be dedicated & motivated! To learn, grow & work hard! A self-starter, independent & accountable. You ask questions, have a real interest in data, sales & finances.
