Summary Reporting to the Product Line Manager, E&O, the Underwriter\'s will be responsible for underwriting the needs while ensuring that the quality of the risks underwritten is adequate to achieve the maximum profitability.
Main responsibilities
- Underwrite and handle renewals within the guidelines of the various programs and contracts
- Develop, underwrite and handle new business within the guidelines of the various programs and contracts or as a wholesaler
- Develop business relationships with existing and new brokers through marketing visits
- Act as a liaison between brokers and insurers to negotiate and determine insurance terms
- Represent the company at industry events as required
Profile
- At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in professional insurance (Construction E&O)
- Advanced level of English, French an asset
- Have an insurance diploma, or be in the process of obtaining one (asset)
- Ability to work with various software and technological tools
- Negotiation skills
- Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness
- Have a good sense of responsibility and priorities
- Good analytical skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
- Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
