The Opportunity



We are seeking a

Waste Audit Technician

to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is a field-based role with regular travel across Ontario, throughout Canada and occasionally into the United States.

You will support waste audit and diversion projects, working closely with the Waste Audit Manager, Waste Analytics and Development Manager, Project Managers and Team Leads.

Hours vary based on project demands. Early mornings, weekend work and overnight travel may be required. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors and contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing



Approximately 90 percent of your time will involve fieldwork (and travel):

Conduct on site waste audits in accordance with AET protocols and client requirements Collect, sort, weigh and categorize waste materials safely and accurately Maintain data integrity and proper labelling Support audits across residential single and multi-family, industrial, commercial, institutional, landfill and material recovery facilities Complete data entry and preliminary accuracy checks in Excel Assist with report preparation as required Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors Support equipment setup, cleanup and general field and office duties as assigned

Education and Experience



Post secondary education in Environmental Studies or related field preferred Experience with waste or recycling audits considered an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel and Word required

Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data Sound judgment and decision making in the field Safety focused, dependable, adaptable and willing to learn Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Licences and Travel



Valid Ontario G licence with clean drivers abstract Experience towing or driving a truck and trailer considered an asset Ability to travel within Ontario and throughout Canada, with occasional US travel Comfort with early mornings, weekend work and overnight travel when required

Physical Requirements



Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms Standing, walking, twisting and handling materials for extended periods Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Personal Protective Equipment



PPE must be used at all times while performing field activities. AET provides:

Half mask respirator, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat and reflective vest
CSA approved safety boots are required and reimbursed after successful completion of probation.
