Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Environmental Technician is responsible for providing a variety of environmental duties for Cardwell Farms. In this position, employees are required to perform laboratory and field tests to monitor the environment and investigate sources of pollution and contamination.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gather air, water, and soil samples to determine contamination levels and assess environmental conditions.
• Perform chemical, physical, and biological tests on air, water, and soil samples and document results.
• Participate in and lead field investigations and inspections.
• Investigate sources to prevent or reduce pollution.
• Trace chemical, physical, and biological pathways of environmental pollutants.
• Initiate environmental monitoring and compliance activities.
• Measure field characteristics, properties, and composition of soils.
• Observe stipulated safety codes at all times.
• Communicating with coworkers, management, and clients to understand project specifications, as needed.
• Thrive in a busy work environment and demonstrate initiative in meeting project goals.
• Ability to learn new tasks.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and upper management.

• Post-Secondary Education in a related field is required.
• Previous Environmental Technician work experience is required.
• Proficiency in Mathematics
• Computer literate
• Positive attitude.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to multi-task and determine priorities.
• Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.
