Location: Skookumchuck, British ColumbiaWhat you will be doing:Promote and provide a safe workplace and support the health and safety program.Monitor emerging environmental issues and changes in legal requirements via liaison with regulatory agencies and industry groups.Ensure effective communication and compliance (monitoring, testing, establishing QA/QC procedures, and/or reporting) required by Federal / Provincial environmental legislation, Certificates-of- Approval and regulations with respect to air, effluent, storm water, groundwater (landfill), wastes and hazardous materials.Apply for and negotiate certificates of approval.Ensure required environmental licenses and permits for the site are procured and maintained current.Establish, maintain and monitor the application of systems for emissions monitoring, measurement and reporting including equipment calibration, repair and wastes.Manage disposition of industrial and hazardous waste.Monitor process operations to ensure compliance and minimize environmental impacts.Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate flow of environmental information across the mill including daily reporting and monthly and quarterly updates.Prepare and meet department budget and explain variances with appropriate corrective action taken as required.Ensure the effective implementation of EMS (ISO 14001), EMP to ensure mill compliance and registration.Inform Technical Manager of potential major environmental problems and propose solutions.Support to delivery of environmental training.Keep up to date with new environmental technology, policies and management methods.Advise other sites or Corporate Group of environmental changes or opportunities for improvement.Support ISO (14001) audits and provide recommendations for improvement.What you must have:Degree/Diploma in Environmental Engineering field, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering or other relevant fieldFive (5) years of direct experience in environmental engineering/management.Experience in environmental permitting.Experience in regulatory agency interface.Knowledge of Water and Air programs.Versatile in Microsoft Office.Salary/Rate Range: $115,000 xe2x80x93 $125,000For more information about TEEMA and to consider other career opportunities, please visit our website at
