We are looking for a GIS student to join our Oil Sands Regulatory team, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with members of the Mining, Environment, and Regulatory teams as we work together to build application maps and digitize data. Key Accountabilities:
Support Regulatory, Environment and Pathways teams through collecting/filing of required spatial data, digitizing data and generating of application maps
Manage (review, update, organize) existing and new environmental Geographic Information System (GIS) data
Acquire hands-on experience with several widely used industry software programs including ArcGIS Map, ArcGIS Pro, FME and Global Mapper
Help build and maintain innovative models and GIS solutions for unique environmental situations
Assist with non-spatial data management for various Environmental disciplines (MS Office)
Learn to build project specific maps in Portal to support teams
What You Bring to The Role:
Currently enrolled in a GIS degree, applied degree or diploma program
Solid understanding and experience of ESRI products (ESRI ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Model Builder)
Previous field data collection experience using ArcGIS would be an asset
ArcGIS Enterprise knowledge is an asset
Previous FME, Python, AutoCAD experience is an asset
An understanding of remote sensing methods and data processing (LiDAR; Photogrammetry) is an asset
Motivated, collaborative, organized, and able to manage competing priorities
