Environmental Planner Fort St. John, British Columbia

SENIOR ENVIROMENTAL PLANNER

Executrade is in search of a motivated Senior Environmental Professional with a background in environmental consulting or upstream oil and gas industry. Within this role you will contribute to ongoing expansion and diversification efforts. The chosen candidate will serve as the primary point of contact, both internally and externally, for managing client portfolios and overseeing all aspects of environmental applications, initial assessments, and inspections crucial for supporting projects from conception to construction.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Project Oversight
  • Planning, coordinating, and managing projects and client relationships
  • Providing guidance, mentorship and training to field, office and junior staff as needed
  • Interpreting and analyzing data, and preparing reports
  • Budget management and control
  • Maintaining strong client relationships
  • Engaging with regulatory bodies and third-party stakeholders
  • Participating in health and safety programs specific to the company and clients
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework in BC
  • Providing technical input for various site assessments and projects involving wellsite, facilities, and pipeline surfaces
  • Managing Schedule B Programs and offering reclamation advice
  • Offering technical support for assessments related to streams, wetlands, wildlife, soil, vegetation and water sustainability act applications
  • Conducting preliminary desktop reviews and providing route planning recommendations
  • Supporting environmental monitoring and construction/reclamation supervision activities in the field
  • Reviewing technical reports, including Schedule A, Schedule B, Pre-Construction Site Assessments, and Changes In and About a Stream reports
Qualifications
  • University degree or diploma from a recognized institution, specializing in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in environmental consulting or related industries
  • Professional designation or the potential to obtain one from a relevant professional association in Alberta and/or British Columbia (e.g., APEGA, APEGS, AIA, BCIA ASPB)
  • Proficiency in BC regulations and guidelines pertaining to environmental planning and inspections.
