WONDERING WHAT YOU\'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. These responsibilities will be in your domain.
  • Providing strategic regulatory advice to proponents and technical teams during all stages of the project life cycle, including planning and feasibility studies, EA, post-EA permitting and compliance
  • Leading the development of EA and permitting related applications and reports, including drafting of text, editing of text developed by technical disciplines, and providing senior strategic review of technical documents
  • Leading and/or supporting development of environmental management plans to support EA conditions and/or permit applications
  • Leading and/or supporting development of permit applications, primarily in British Columbia as well as other Canadian jurisdictions for a wide variety of clients and industries (e.g., infrastructure, mining, transportation, provincial, federal and First Nations governments)
  • Providing leadership in managing and tracking communication processes between proponents, engineers, environmental teams, regulatory agencies and working groups
  • Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with your colleagues to maximize work productivity and quality

THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
  • 5+ years of technical experience, consulting experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of provincial, territorial, and federal environmental legislation, such as the Impact Assessment Act, Fisheries Act, Canadian Navigable Waters Act, BC Environmental Management Act, BC Mines Act, BC Forest Act, BC Water Sustainability Act, andBC Environmental Assessment Act
  • Experience with the environmental aspects of construction projects, mining experience would be considered an asset
  • Broad knowledge of a range of environmental disciplines (e.g., air quality, surface and groundwater quality, vegetation, wildlife, fish and fish habitat) and experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • R.P.Bio., or relevant professional designation, or eligible
  • Effective analytical and technical writing skills and ability to produce high quality reports.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics.
  • Reliable, well organized, motivated, and able to work independently.
