Senior Environmental Assessment & Permitting Specialist

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Senior Environmental Assessment & Permitting Specialist is responsible for supporting and leading the delivery of activities related to environmental regulatory and environmental assessment projects in the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and activities related to planning studies, environmental assessments and permit applications for Ensero projects and clients.
  • Leads the development of regulatory strategies for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams and proactively identify opportunities to improve project environmental design aspects and streamline regulatory processes.
  • Develops integrated project schedule including critical path for the end to end tasks and activities necessary to successfully implement projects.
  • Provide corporate technical support to Ensero projects with regard to environmental compliance, governance and permitting.
  • Interface and communicate with various levels of government, stakeholders and communities to advance permitting activities.
  • Represent Ensero Solutions and our clients in regulatory and community meetings, workshops and events and oversee the preparation of presentation materials.
  • Keep abreast of existing and pending legislation and regulation changes which may impact Ensero projects or our client\xe2\x80\x99s projects. Coordinate and disseminate regulatory information within the company.
  • Develop professional and business relationships across the industry to better advance Ensero\xe2\x80\x99s growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Supports the writing and development of client proposals and explores business development opportunities in mining and other sectors.
  • Conducts senior reviews of technical deliverables and programs in area(s) of expertise.
  • Supports risk analysis with project management.
  • Mentors project team members including direction, coaching, and professional development.
  • Monitor and promote system environmental health and worker safety compliance.
  • Completes other projects, reporting and tasks as assigned.
  • All other related duties as required.
About You
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related science (biology, hydrogeology, hydrology, wildlife, geology).
  • 7+ years relevant experience in mining or environmental consulting with knowledge and experience with BC/Yukon impact assessment and licensing regime for resource development projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Profession designation or eligible for a professional designation (P.Eng, P.Geo, P.Ag, P.Biol, RFP) considered an asset.
