Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Environmental services (also known as housekeepers) are responsible for daily cleaning such as vacuuming, wet and dry mopping, dusting, and cleaning furniture and fixtures, spot cleaning, case cleaning in all patient rooms, discharge, and transfer cleaning, emptying garbage containers, stripping and refinishing floors, washing walls, steam cleaning, cleaning beds, and replenishing cleaning supplies and other dispensable items. They collect bio-hazardous wastes for transport as established by waste management guidelines. Environmental services I and II\'s are required to operate industrial-sized power cleaning equipment as part of their floor maintenance duties. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, nights, and weekend shifts. Description:

As an Environmental II, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or facility associated with industrial cleaning supplies and by using powered industrial equipment. Your typical duties may include operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance, thorough washing of ceilings and windows and emptying hazardous waste. You may also provide training/orientation to Environmental staff.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift. Physically capable to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs of force. Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, able to follow oral and written instruction. Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smart phone. Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous cleaning experience preferred.
