Banister Pipelines Limited Partnership (Banister) is a leading pipeline construction company based in Nisku, Alberta servicing the Canadian market since 1948. Banister is seeking an Environmental Manager to work on a major construction project located near Chilliwack British Columbia. Duration of the assignment is from March 2023 to approx. September 2023. Role Description The Field Environmental Coordinator (CEC) is a field-based role and reports to the Environmental Manager (EM). The principal responsibility of the CEC is to understand and implement the ERDs and associated legislative requirements and ensure Banister construction personnel correctly abide by environmental requirements during all phases of construction. Duties and Responsibilities Provide compliance verification through continuous field monitoring and daily reporting. Ensure implementation and maintenance of mitigation measures when required. Work collaboratively with TMEP Environmental Inspectors (EIs) to coordinate project- wide environmental monitoring, including the development and initiation of corrective and preventative action procedures. Directing immediate corrective actions (when possible) for any observed environmentally related non-compliances, events and deficiencies and communicating them to the EM, if necessary. Complete field reporting on corrective actions and non-compliances, if applicable, and oversee the completion of these key reporting requirements to maintain accurate documentation and effective record-keeping. Work collaboratively with the BANISTER EM and TMEP EIs to establish corrective actions. Review construction activities and identify areas of environmental concern, and request Resource Specialist support from the TMEP Lead EI, when warranted. Assist BANISTER EM with maintaining all applicable environmental reporting requirements and ensure all environmental records are reviewed and transmitted to TMEP. Support construction execution by providing guidance on environmental requirements such as watercourse crossings, restoration, erosion and sediment control, species at risk, rare plants, etc. Advise foremen on legislation, regulations and codes, TMEP requirements, and conformance to Project environmental commitments. Responsible for developing and maintaining environmental reports (i.e., monthly reports, regulatory reporting, etc.) as required. Oversee construction execution to ensure environmental performance and compliance in all aspects of the work. Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
