About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Quality, the Environmental Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive policy support and advice in the administration of the Department\'s Quality program.

Primary Accountabilities

This position takes a lead role in:

  • Designing and implementing divisional and department-wide initiatives to improve effectiveness, increase consistency and contribute to continuous improvement of the department\'s regulatory programs.
  • Working closely with program managers to provide advice on program planning, quality and process improvement activities, and lead reviews and evaluations of environmental and environmental health programs.
  • Project Management of projects that span across all divisions and require central coordination.
  • Working closely with program and leadership teams and supporting informed decision-making by senior management.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate for this position has the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • The ability to think conceptually, to grasp and apply highly technical information on many topics, and to develop practical and effective solutions to an extensive range of issues falling within the department\'s broad mandate is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts + 2 years related experience is required. Related experience includes outcome-based measurement and strategic planning; research and analysis, and development of recommendations; leading teams of stakeholders; process improvement activities; evaluation frameworks and/or implementation of program evaluations.
  • Exceptional skills in project design and project management; demonstrated experience leading groups; excellent judgement are required.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a broad range of audiences is required.
  • Technical proficiency in software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software in a windows environment will be required.
Working knowledge of the operation of government, and an understanding of the function of a regulatory department is an asset. Graduate level education in public administration, law, science or a related discipline, plus several years of related public sector experience will be considered an asset.

  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day

Pay Grade: PR 10

Salary Range: $2,185.90 - $3,250.64 Bi-Weekly
