Job Description

Join the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Team at the City of Edmonton and play a crucial role in improving Asset Management practices across the entire organization. This strategic team provides oversight and guidance to ensure the City aligns its Community partners throughout the Asset Management lifecycle. Your work will directly support the City's long-term visions and help achieve them through efficient daily operational actions. This position is vital to the long-term sustainability, cohesiveness, and modernization of EAM practices by focusing on key areas like Governance, People, Data & Analytics, Process, and Technology. You will be instrumental in leading and implementing various EAM initiatives in a dynamic work environment that emphasizes our Cultural Commitments.
What will you do?
Implement and Lead EAM Initiatives

  • Plan, develop, and implement various EAM initiatives
  • Define the initiative goals, objectives, and planned deliverables
  • Manage, monitor, and report on initiative progress through detailed plans and schedules, ensuring the initiative is on budget, on schedule, and within the defined scope and quality
  • Document all initiative activities in accordance with project management methodology, City policies, processes, procedures, and regulatory/legislative requirements
  • Support the Program Lead in implementing EAM change initiatives, including developing governance models, policies, and procedures
Research, Development, and Continuous Improvement
  • Review and analyze initiatives, plans, and any new policies in relation to Asset Management and corporate business planning and provide recommendations based on these reviews
  • Provide research and analytical support for special initiatives, preparing charts, graphs, and textual presentations of data collected and summarized using standardized tools and methods
  • Assist in delivering better value and enhanced efficiencies by simplifying asset management processes and eliminating waste
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of asset management processes and practices
Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external Community partners and Collaborators
  • Manage relationships while coordinating with both internal and external Community partners, Collaborators, and resources, including team members and representatives from other areas for the initiative
  • Work independently and use significant judgement as the lead of initiatives
  • Monitor transformative initiatives through frequent and ongoing interaction with all levels of leaders in the department
  • Collaborate with the Communications staff to develop and implement an overall communication plan for assigned initiatives or programs, where required
Qualifications
  • A Degree in a related field, such as Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or Asset Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a combination of: strategic and operational business planning, working with corporate performance measures and budgets, and policy development
  • Proven experience in leading Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence projects
  • Experience in applying project management methodologies and principles
  • Strong change management skills
  • Proficient in data analysis and KPI creation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Knowledge of enterprise systems, data governance, and management
Assets:
  • Experience with asset management in a public sector environment
  • Experience using SAP, M5, Tririga, Meridian, Google Suite, Oracle, or Microsoft Access is preferred
  • Certification assets: PMP, Lean Six Sigma, PROSCI, or equivalents

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary Range: $48.774- $61.628 (Hourly); $101,840.110- 128,679.260 (Annually)
