is a Vancouver based art education institution committed to guiding students in art and design as they transition to their chosen post-secondary schools. We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated dedicated educator to instructor in our English courses.

Program Summary



We are looking for an experienced and qualified part-time English Instructor to teach BC Curriculum English Grades 11 and 12, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) This role is a part time fixed contract.

Key Responsibilities



A minimum of 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience with BC Grade 11/12 English, AP and IB. A Bachelor or Master's degree in English or a related field with a BC teaching certificate preferred. Develop and implement an effective curriculum and learning outcomes for AP, IB and Grade 11/12 English courses aligned with current standards and requirements. Familiar with local BC high school English courses and program. Efficiently communicate with parents/guardians to provide updates on student performance, address concerns. A genuine passion for teaching and education and a dedication to student success. Attend periodical meetings to ensure the teaching plan is executed on time. Teach for approximately 10-20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options on weekdays after 4pm or on weekends.

Qualifications & Skills



Bachelor's degree in English or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching certification or license in English Education (preferred). Proven experience teaching AP, IB, and Grade 11/12 English courses, with a track record of student achievement. Knowledge of the AP and IB English curriculum. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians to support students' academic and personal growth. Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching English literature and language. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and other relevant data, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures. Availability on weekdays after 4pm or on Saturdays. Must provide a criminal check as required in British Columbia when teaching children, youth and at-risk adults.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
