We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative Engineering Technologist – Capital Focus to join our Engineering team and make a lasting impact on our forward-thinking organization and rapidly-growing community! In this position, you will participate in a variety of capital works projects from design review, site inspection/contract administration, commenting on technical studies, and assisting in the tender/request for proposal process. Committed to the guiding values of our Community Strategic Plan: Innovative Innisfil 2030, the Engineering Technologist – Capital Focus will take a ‘Community First’ and ‘Future Next’ approach to assisting the service area in addressing resident/community group issues and will be responsible for:

  • Conducting field inspections; arranging meetings and remedial action where necessary and associated contract supervision/administration; maintaining a complaint tracking and follow-up system.
  • Collaborating with Town engineering consultants; assisting in the creation of recommendations for assumption of services and letters of credit releases/reductions, trouble-shooting on infield design issues; preparing status reports on projects and/or complaint issues.
  • Carrying out engineering studies and research projects, reviewing and commenting on submissions, perform data reporting, collection, maintenance, and analysis using database, GIS, and other software.
  • Providing timely and courteous information and follow-up to staff, residents and consultants/contractors in keeping with our approach to excellence in customer service.

Job Requirements
The preferred candidate holds:
  • A Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Must possess or be eligible for CET designation.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years engineering experience, preferably in municipal services.
  • A valid Class “G” driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Availability to attend evening meetings or other events, if necessary.
