Summary:



The Engineering Technician will prepare production documents for manufacturing and will enter components and BOMs into the ERP system. The Engineering technician will perform DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) reviews. The Engineering Technician will identify where products and production documents could be better optimized for manufacture/assembly. Specifically, the Engineering Technician's duties will include developing an in-depth knowledge of our customers and supply base, strengths and weaknesses of internal manufacturing and business processes, strengths and weaknesses of equipment, and the strengths and weaknesses of key personnel that contribute to the quality of the manufactured product.

Job Duties:



Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding technical issues related to products and components. Prepare production documents from manufacturing files received from customers and maintain these files in production build configurations. Develop interfaces to customer PLM systems, such as Agile and Arena. Translate and enter BOMs into the ERP system. Add components to the ERP system. Generate BOMs, AMLs, and other reports from the ERP system. Scrub customer BOMs and manufacturing files for quote purposes. Component engineering, including alternate component review and selection, lifecycle management, PCN review, and customer notification of end-of-life components. PCB Gerber and ODB++ file review using ViewMate Deluxe software. Develop and maintain generic inquiries and import scenarios for the Acumatica ERP system. Develop and maintain custom VBA software for BOM translation, BOM importing, BOM scrubbing, BOM reports, component importing, BOM comparison, pick list reports, XY file translation, AML reports, and other applications as required. Representing manufacturing in customer DFMEA's. Assisting in PFMEA creation and updates. Creation of assembly flow charts or supervision of supplier assembly flow charts creation for manufacturing or rework activities. Creation of Work Instructions or supervision of supplier Work Instruction creation for manufacturing or rework activities. Identification of DFM/A improvements to existing products to include a cost benefit analysis to allow senior evaluation and approval. Supporting our supply chain management department in the qualification and selection of new suppliers by assisting in the evaluation of the suppliers manufacturing capabilities. Input of manufacturing (tooling, Assembly and Manufacturing Test equipment) estimates to quotations to our potential customers. Assist in workflow analysis and make recommendations for improvement in material handling and shop layout. Establish and maintain work standards for product costing and productivity measurement. Create manufacturing deviations using QMS (Quality Management System) software. Other duties as may be assigned

Education & Experience:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Minimum 5 years' experience as a manufacturing engineer in a medium volume or high-volume manufacturing environment. Expertise in DFM/A techniques, including Valor DFM. Experience of new customer product manufacturing launch. Proven ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets. Quality Control background including problem solving and root cause analysis. Sound technical background (hands-on) with logical deductive reasoning approach. Working knowledge of Acumatica ERP, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft VBA software

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
