BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for an Engineering Technician. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Participating in the equipment selection and specification process.
• Writing, revising, and executing qualification protocols to test equipment performance vs. performance specifications.
• Red-lining and revising piping and instrumentation drawings (PIDs), facility, and equipment drawings, and updating AutoCAD drawings.
• Preparing commissioning packages and executing commissioning test functions.
• Setting up spare parts inventory for new equipment.
• Writing manufacturing work instructions, training procedures, specification and inspection procedures interdepartmental and departmental procedures and standard operating procedures that support manufacturing activities.
• Participating in design review activities including, comparing system designs against applicable Codes (Canadian Building Code, NFPA, Canadian Electrical Code etc.).
• Participating in Process Hazard Analysis activities for chemical process safety systems and potent compounds handling systems.
• Participating in impact assessment activities for equipment and utilities to determine critical components (for quality, safety, and environment).
• Participating in Impact Assessment activities for equipment and utilities to determine critical components (for quality, safety, and environment).
• Participating in the installation of equipment as per manufacturer\'s recommendations and/or engineering designs.
• Assisting in troubleshooting process equipment and systems.
• Assisting with managing and co-coordinating project work with outside parties, contractors, etc.
• Assisting maintenance department with repair, calibration, and sourcing replacement parts, as required.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

• Engineering Technologist diploma.
• Ability to read, interpret, revise and/or create (AutoCAD) piping and instrumentation drawings, facility, and equipment drawings.
• Ability to write test protocols, maintenance, and operating procedures.
• Knowledge of purchasing procedures, such as tendering and administration of requests.
• Ability to work within a strict quality system.
• Industrial experience would be an asset.
• Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.
