Overview:
TRC is an international engineering, consulting, and construction management firm that provides integrated engineering, consulting, and construction management services to the Environmental, Power, Oil and Gas, and Infrastructure markets. The company is a rapidly growing, highly acquisitive, and entrepreneurial organization with numerous opportunities.
We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced Mechanical/Civil C.E.T. to join our growing Civil, Facilities, and Geotechnical team in Calgary, AB, or Toronto, ON. This role works closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and specialists to deliver projects primarily in the rail industry but also to a variety of clients, including industrial, municipalities, counties, and commercial entities.
Responsibilities:
Conduct railway fuel station visual preventative maintenance inspections across Canada and oversee petroleum contractors.
Prepare preventative maintenance site visit logs and reporting.
Engineering site inspections on industrial construction projects for quality control and adherence to engineering design specifications.
Document construction site activities and identify and monitor deficiencies.
Assist senior staff with construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews and coordination with Contractors.
Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation, and assessment for infrastructure projects.
Use AutoCAD to prepare civil and mechanical-related plans and drawings.
Be involved in Mechanical and Civil Engineering-related project aspects, including studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Projects may include planning, modeling, and design of facilities such as water and wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, utilities (water transmission, gravity sanitary sewer mains, force mains, etc.), hydraulics and hydrology, drainage design, site plans, roadway, and other miscellaneous civil design projects.
Ability to execute engineering best practices for engineeringprojects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.
Assist senior staff in the production of project plans, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, technical memorandums, and cost estimates.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, cities/clients, and other public agencies.
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
2-4 years of related experience.
Active Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) certification with ASET/OACETT, or in the process of completing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be flexible, well organized, accountable, and dependable.
Interest in performing work in the field. Approximately 40% travel.
