About the Role:





Engineering Managers at AlayaCare lead a team of engineers dedicated to product development and in the development and maintenance of features in our flagship SaaS application.



Engineering Managers cultivate a strong team identity with personalized coaching and mentoring. They use their understanding of the AlayaCare business to ensure that context and impact are clear and keep everyone accountable with aggressive-but-realistic delivery plans.


About the Project:





We are seeking a

technical and people-driven Engineering Manager

to lead the 2 development teams responsible for AlayaCare's flagship mobile applications. This area is at the heart of how care workers deliver services in the field--through a mobile app that enables clocking in and out, managing visits, capturing clinical documentation, communicating with supervisors, and navigating day-to-day workflows on both iOS and Android.

People Leadership & Team Development




Hire, coach, and retain top engineering talent, setting clear expectations and providing frequent, actionable feedback. Foster a high-trust culture of ownership, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning. Conduct performance assessments and drive career development for team members.

Technical & Operational Excellence




Own the software delivery lifecycle end-to-end, from technical design to deployment and operations. Lead by example in engineering standards, technical decisions, operational best practices, and quality ownership. Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering leaders to deliver solutions that are performant, secure, and scalable. Own the responsibility for quality regarding deliverables. Drive innovation, simplification, and technical excellence across your teams, providing hands-on guidance when needed.

Product and Project Ownership




Define, prioritize, and execute the team's roadmap in collaboration with Product Managers. Deliver impactful features with a strong focus on customer needs and operational excellence. Use data and metrics to measure progress, inform decisions, and drive continuous improvement.

Strategic Impact & Innovation




Identify long-term technical opportunities, risks, and work proactively to address them. Drive innovation and experimentation, encouraging the team to explore and improve how we deliver care through software. Influence cross-team architecture and platform evolution, ensuring scalable, resilient systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration




Partner effectively with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, and other internal stakeholders to solve complex customer challenges. Act as the technical liaison for your product area in strategic conversations, balancing business needs with technical feasibility.

What you bring to the team

:


7+ years professional software engineering experience. 3+ years of people management experience in a technical industry, including strong cross-functional leadership and organizational skills. Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc., B.Eng.) in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Experience building large-scale iOS and/or Android applications; familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS environments is a strong asset. Experience in implementing Scrum/Agile practices with engineering teams. You enjoyed an experience with start-ups or scale-ups. Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc., B.Eng.) in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to express technical and business concepts in approachable terms. Strong knowledge of contemporary software development practices, and opinions on how to best implement them. English mandatory and French considered an asset.

Location and travel requirements:





AlayaCare supports a flexible hybrid working model, expecting that our employees have a regular in-office presence at their closest office location while offering flexibility for some remote work. Our team encourages in-person collaboration and with this, the preferred candidate location for this position would be within the Greater Montreal Area.
