Plains\xe2\x80\x99 has multiple great opportunities for two highly motivated students to join our Project Management Engineering team in our Calgary office for either a 4 or 8-month term position beginning May 6, 2024. The successful students will be responsible for conducting research and gathering data relative to Engineering projects and subsequently interpreting and analyzing their findings to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of processes and overall function of assigned Engineering group;
Assist & support team members in various ad-hoc & reoccurring projects involving the gathering, consolidating, analyzing, and presenting of asset data;
Utilize the latest technologies available to support team members in creating more efficient and streamlined processes for analyzing data to make business decisions;
Attend internal/external meetings, where applicable;
Depending on business need and assigned group, there may be an opportunity to travel to a field location to learn more about our assets;
Achieve and complete assigned tasks as outlined at the beginning of the work term; and
Assist in various ad hoc requests as required.
Qualifications:
Must have completed at least two years of studies;
Interns must be able to commit to a full 4 - 8-month work term starting May 6, 2024 to be considered for the program;
Interns must be pursuing an undergraduate Engineering degree. Preference will be given to those in a Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, and/or Civil discipline;
Preference will be given to a student who will be returning to university to finish their undergraduate degree following the completion of this work term;
Previous work terms are considered an asset;
Both formal and non-formal co-op students are eligible to apply;
Interns must be able and willing to relocate themselves to Calgary for the entire duration of the work term;
Strong written and communication skills;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision;
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills;
Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook;
Proven flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business conditions; and
The successful candidate must provide satisfactory references and complete a Criminal Background Check.
