Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking for a highly motivated individual to join our Environmental Services team in British Columbia or the Yukon for the May through December 2025 (4-month or 8-month) period as a Surface Water Resources Co-op. As the successful candidate, you will use your technical abilities to complete the surface water resources component(s) of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic team setting. You will report directly to the Water Resources Team Lead and will have primarily field data collection and data analysis responsibilities.
Your Key Responsibilities
Conduct hydrology fieldwork with on-site support and supervision from experienced team members
Complete topographic or bathymetric surveys and data analysis
Manage and interpret field data
Use specialized equipment and software
Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, water resource permitting applications and environmental impact assessments
Write technical memorandums and contribute to report writing
Actively participate in Stantecs Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Program to promote a strong health and safety culture
Perform tasks, as requested, efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
A valid drivers license and be willing to travel. Field work is often completed in remote areas accessible by airplane or helicopter, at active mine sites, or in rugged, mountainous terrain. Field activities may include up to 75% of workload.
Valid safety training certificates relevant to field work (first aid, auxiliary vehicles, boating, etc.) are an asset
