Our Team:

Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world.

The Port Colborne Refinery was also commissioned 100 years ago on the shore of Lake Erie. Raw materials and finished products from Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Sudbury and Newfoundland and Labrador operations are transported to Port Colborne for processing.

The various Engineering Teams are all integral for Vale\xe2\x80\x99s short-term and long-term operating strategy and success.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking Engineering or Science Co-op Students to join various Engineering Teams across our Canadian Operations. These are fixed term positions, 8 to 12 months duration, starting in January 2024 or May 2024. Please be clear in your application which start date you are looking for.

As a Co-op student, you will;

• Follow Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards
• Develop skills and abilities related to the provision of engineering in Ontario
• Ensure compliance to the applicable laws, standards and guidelines
• Provide technical support to enable safe and efficient operations in an industrial plant, mine or production laboratory.
• Maintain demonstrate open and clear dialogue in all aspects of work

About You

Education:

Currently enrolled and in good standing in an Engineering or Science University Co-op program in any of the following fields:

• Chemical
• Electrical
• Mechanical
• Metallurgical
• Materials
• Environmental

Skills

Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products; Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook
